Chinese New Year & Superbowl – Year of the Horse?

January 31, 2014 marks the start of Chinese New Year, a 15 day festival celebrating the Lunar New Year. Each year celebrates a Chinese calendar zodiac sign (there’s 12 in total) and 2014 is the Year of the Horse. It’s said that those born in horse years are cheerful, skillful with money, perceptive, witty, talented and good with their hands. Gung Hay Fat Choy to everyone! That means Happy New Year in Cantonese!

Now Sunday is also the Superbowl between the Seattle Seahawks and the Denver Broncos. Now I don’t want to jinx anything as I’m fairly certain the Hawks are going to win it, but….it is the year of the horse. Huh. I’m just hoping that the Chinese zodiac calendar isn’t predicting this year’s Superbowl winner, rather, the team that will come in 2nd place. Go Hawks!

Ok, enough of that. It’s the year of the horse and to celebrate both the Chinese New Year lunar zodiac, and, that it’s Superbowl weekend (almost) we thought this was the perfect video to honour both of these festivities. Oh and you might need a tissue. I did.

And, if you’d like to see another Superbowl and horse related video, check out this year’s Budweiser spot. Cute!
