5 Year Old Signs with Utah Jazz

Doog News loves it when dreams come true and this is a wonderful example.

5 year old JP Gibson was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia in 2012. As a huge sports and particularly basketball fan, it was his dream to play with the Utah Jazz. The team, through the Anything Can Be Project, learned of JP’s dream and made it happen on October 6, 2014.

In this video you can see the press conference announcing the one-day contract that JP signed with the Jazz. He signed his contract using a blue crayon of course, how cute! And, not only that, he warmed up with his teammates, won the rookie dance off and even slammed home the highlight of the night with two hands!

JP is still fighting the disease involving regular hospital visits and chemotherapy and so his parents were thrilled that their son had this opportunity of a lifetime. His mom Megan regularly wonders if he’ll ever have a normal life and with this opportunity she told KSL Sports, “I don’t think there are words to express, I mean, we are so grateful.”

What a lovely happy story for this family. And go JP! Doog News is behind you buddy in your fight against this horrible disease.
