Elena Shumilova is a photographer in Russia. She gets her inspiration from her two children, while living on a Russian farm in the outskirts of the town of Andreapol. Her kids Yaroslav and Vanya spend their days exploring and visiting with the domestic animals, which makes for magically beautiful farm photographs that show us the simple beauty of animal and human friendship.
Elena captures some heartwarming moments where her kids and dogs, cats, rabbit’s ducklings, and geese are all just one big, happy family.
“Children and animals – it’s my life. I’m a mom with two sons and we spend a lot of time on the farm,” – Shumilova told the website Bored Panda.
“I’m so glad that my pictures began to be liked by many people. It inspires me & it makes me do better with my pictures.”
The farm photographs have captured the imagination of people around the world, as the series has gone viral. Shumilova tells TODAY.com her passion for photography was born in 2012 when she got her first DSLR camera, and that she’s been photographing her home life ever since. It was a way to capture this idyllic life and document her kids growing up.
She prefers to shoot in natural light, even if that means shooting through bad weather.
“I love all sorts of light conditions,” she said, “street lights, candle light, fog, smoke, rain and snow — everything that gives visual and emotional depth to the image.”
These beautiful farm photos capture a romantic life on the farm and some lucky little ones.
