Photographer Time Travels by Adding Herself to her Childhood Photographs

London-based photographer Chino Otsuka is using Photoshop as her personal time machine.  In this series of photos titled “Imagine Finding Me”, she digitally inserts herself into old photos to make it seem as though she is standing next to her younger self.  The photos are both nostalgic and heartwarming.

Otsuka explains the process:  “The digital process becomes a tool, almost like a time machine, as I’m embarking on the journey to where I once belonged and at the same time becoming a tourist in my own history.”

The idea is so simple and could have been very cheesy looking if not done well, but Chino pulls it off in these beautiful photos that make you wish you could go back in time and live those moments of our childhood again.

She includes this poem in her post:

“If,
again
I have a chance to meet,
there is so much I want to ask
and so much I want to tell”
