Christmas after a typhoon

Super typhoon Haiyan devastated the Philippines in early November 2013, killing 10’s of thousands and leaving many more homeless.  It was the most powerful typhoon ever to hit the Philippines. and is also the strongest storm recorded at landfall, and unofficially the strongest typhoon ever recorded in terms of wind speed..  While relief efforts continue, the cleanup will last for months and years with many still without food and shelter.

In all of the death and devastation, one thing remains, the human spirit, and Christmas seems to bring out the best in people.  Reuter’s news agency sent their photographers to the Philippines, and they captured some amazing photos of the true meaning of Christmas.
